Fire gilded
Fire gilded candelabras
Two fire gilded (ormolu) candelabras made in about 1820 to 1830. Each candelabra is for three candles. At the bottom is a column with a ball at the top, all in gilt bronze. On the foot of the column stands a winged woman dressed like a Greek goddess. She is made of bronze that has darkened over time. She carries the three candleholders, which sit on a bow. The bow is decorated with a lyre, leaves and garlands. The candleholders are also gilt.
