A yellowed piece of paper measuring about 20 x 15 cm. On the upper half are two large round embossed seals. One shows a picture of the national bank of Sweden and the words: “Herefore strength and safety” in Latin. The other is Sweden’s national coat of arms. Under the seal is old-fashioned text written in the Swedish of the 1700s. It says that the owner of this note has deposited 9 daler in copper coins, that it shall be valid “in every hand (the note) is held” and that if the owner presents this note, the bank will pay.
A summary of the text is also printed in Finnish. Beside this is a smaller warning text, which says in Swedish: “Whoever imitates this bill will be hanged but the person who demonstrably discovers the imitator shall receive forty thousand daler in copper coins as a reward as stated by His Royal Majesty’s Gracious Proclamation of 20 December 1754.”The note is signed and dated: Stockholm, 17 May 1760.
