Öre

GMK:177

Öre has existed since medieval times in Sweden. Initially, öre was associated with marks and pennies. The öre in the display case are all from 1855 to 1912 and are associated with kronor. During that time, there were öre denominations such as half-öre, one-öre, two-öre, and five-öre, all made of copper. Ten-öre, 25-öre, and 50-öre coins were always made of silver. Size and weight varied.
