Ducats are always made of gold. They are usually 2 to 2.5 centimeters in diameter and weigh approximately 3.5 grams each. There are also so-called “double ducats” and four ducat coins, which are larger and heavier. Ducats were produced in Sweden from the early 17th century until the late 1860s.
