18 pennies

GMK:351

A square silver coin, a so-called “klipping,” from 1521. The square shape results from stamping a sheet of metal and then cutting it into pieces for coins. On the front, there is a vague image meant to depict a figure in armor. On the back, there is a coat of arms that combines the three crowns of the national coat of arms with the emblem of Dalarna, featuring two crossed arrows. In the coat of arms, there is also a “G” representing Gustav Vasa. The coin is clipped diagonally, so parts of the coat of arms are missing. The coin is 1.4 cm wide and weighs 1.9 grams.
