A round gold coin worth 16 marks. On the front, it features a profile image of Karl IX. He wears a laurel wreath on his head, and it is evident that he is clad in armor. Around him is Karl’s royal title in Latin. On the reverse side, there is Sweden’s large national coat of arms, and the denomination is indicated as 16 M. Around this is written in Latin, ‘Nyttmynt, kungariket Sverige’ (New coin, Kingdom of Sweden). The coin is 2.7 cm in diameter and weighs almost 5 grams.
