Johan III:s
A round silver coin worth 1 daler. On the front, there is an image of Johan III in half-figure. He has a long beard, wears noble armor, and has a crown on his head, holding a sword and a scepter in his hands. He supports his right arm on the national coat of arms. Around the image of Johan III are one of his mottos, ‘Gud vår beskyddare’ (God our protector), and outside of it is his royal title in Latin.
On the reverse side is an image of Jesus in half-figure. He is dressed in only a cloak, holding a scepter in his left hand and raising his right hand in the sign of God. Around the image of Jesus, it is written in Latin, ‘Världens frälsare, fräls oss’ (Savior of the world, save us). The coin is 4.2 cm and weighs 5.21 grams. It dates back to 1576.
