Johan III:s
A round gold coin worth 1 gyllen. On the front, it features a profile image of Johan III. He has a long beard, and on his head, he wears a crown. Around him is Johan’s royal title in Latin.
On the reverse side, there is Sweden’s small national coat of arms, and on one side of it, it reads 15, and on the other side, 70, indicating the year 1570 when the coin was minted. Around this is written Johan III’s motto in Latin, ‘Gud är vår beskyddare’ (God is our protector). The coin is 2.3 cm in diameter and weighs almost 3.23 grams.
