Duke karl’s
A round silver coin worth 1 daler. On the front, a sun with wavy rays is depicted. In the center of the sun, it reads “God” in Hebrew characters. Around the sun, the Latin inscription reads “Nytt mynt” (New coin). Between the words, there is a small flower on a stem, a star, and an angel. On the reverse side, Sweden’s large national coat of arms is featured – in four fields, there are three crowns and lions, topped with a crown. In the center of the coat of arms sits a sheaf, symbolizing the Vasa dynasty. Surrounding it in Latin is “Kungariket Sverige” (Kingdom of Sweden), and on each side of the coat of arms, there are the numbers 9 and 8. The coin dates back to 1598. It measures 4.3 cm in diameter and weighs nearly 30 grams.
