Writing desk
A writing desk from the trading firm A. Magnus & Co, located at Magasinsgatan 24, Gothenburg. The writing desk is tall and has a slanted top. It is made of light brown stained mahogany. On the front, there are three pull-out drawers with locks. The desk’s four legs are held together by a cross in the middle. At the trading firm, the desk was placed in the largest office room. It was manufactured in the 1870s and measures 165 cm in length, 82 cm in width, and 120 cm in height. It was acquired by the City Museum in November 1974 as a gift from the wholesalers Einar and Leif Henriques, Gothenburg.
