Box with nibs
Ask med stift
A box of nibs for fountain pens. Inside the box, there is a large number of metal nibs. The user would insert a nib into a pen holder and then dip the nib into ink. These nibs are manufactured by the company Perry & Co, London, England. The nibs are called “Shakspeare Pen”, but the name “Shakespeare” is misspelled and lacks an “e”. On the lid of the box, there is a portrait of the playwright William Shakespeare. On the underside of the box, there is an oval brass-colored plate with a nib attached to it. The box was sold at N.J. Gumpert’s stationery store in Gothenburg. It was donated to the City Museum by the trading firm A. Magnus & Co.
